The Swedish krona has hit rock bottom, so it is attractive for Norwegian customers to buy their groceries from Swedish shops near the border. Each year, border trade totals several billion Swedish kronor, with meat sales accounting for just over half. The meat comes from, among others, DC in Hadsund, which has seen a significant growth in sales to the border shops recently. Actually, a single border town in Sweden has sold more gyros than Danish Crown sells in Denmark in a whole year. About 95 per cent of customers are Norwegians, who save 40 per cent by shopping in Sweden.
